Many men and women caregivers say caregiving is the toughest endeavor they have ever undertaken, but also the most rewarding. Dedicating oneself to a loved one affirms our loving nature, but we want them to know that they are not alone in caring for their loved ones. As a result, the Caregivers Ministry Outreach Team of New Covenant Community Church is continuing this educational ministry outreach by holding a requested third Caregiver’s Support Conference. This event is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012, at New Covenant Community Church, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Therefore, we are pleased to be able to extend an invitation to all men and women caregivers and family members to attend this conference. This ministry outreach is free and is also open to interested community members.

Goals of the Conference Include:

Keynote speaker and speakers will present in their areas of expertise to educate and provide:

  • caregivers with resources for emotional, medical and physical support for the caregiver and loved ones, including how to cope with grief.

  • the opportunity for caregivers to find the importance of rediscovering, replenishing or reconnecting relationships, since many feel their identity disappears as they care for loved ones.

  • better understanding the language of behavior when caring for a person living with Dementia/ Alzheimer’s Disease.

  • the opportunity to hear from a panel of three doctors with their insight for support of caregivers and loved ones, along with time for questions and answers.

  • the importance of financial planning to protect your family member’s assets from the high costs of care, and understanding the language in your legal documents and are they correct.

The conference will conclude with a panel of experts providing discussion with a question and answer session.

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend two break-out sessions out of five sessions being presented. Please see the Conference Schedule website page, which includes details of speakers, brief description of the sessions, and the schedule.

Sponsors will be on site to provide supportive services and resource materials.
